The idea is to create a team of specialized AI agents that can work together to solve complex problems. The company plans to advance joint research and proof-of-concept initiatives with governments and companies in the sovereign AI domain. Fujitsu & Microsoft even showcased a JAL cabin crew AI app at Microsoft AI Tour. This is where things get interesting. If AI can handle complex tasks autonomously, it moves beyond just creating text and images and becomes a true agent. But again, the devil is in the details. How well do these agents actually perform in real-world scenarios? What are the limitations of the technology? And how much human oversight is still required? Fujitsu possesses intellectual property in "Causal AI" for analyzing causal relationships between business events to support management decision-making, and its "graph AI" can analyze complex genetic networks to uncover novel treatments for diseases like cancer. Causal AI is a fascinating area (and one where I've seen a lot of hype). The ability to understand *why* things happen, rather than just *what* happens, could be a game-changer for decision-making. The problem is, causal inference is notoriously difficult, and the models are often very sensitive to the quality of the data.
